Assessing Urban Sustainability and the Potential to Improve the Quality of Education and Gender Equality in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

This research assessed the urban sustainability of all 14 districts Cambodian capital Phnom Penh to identify weaknesses and improvement potentials achieve national development goals; New Urban Agenda (NUA); Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11 (sustainable cities communities), 4 (quality education), 5 (gender equality). The indicators’ selection was based on available data. analysis indicators their weights analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Indicator were used improve assessment accuracy each district’s unique characteristics specific strengths weaknesses. normal distribution model standardize variables before comparison. Among quality education indicators, access vocational training obtained highest weight 0.38, followed by staff with 0.33 facilities 0.29. gender-equality-related related professions 0.34, schools decision-making 0.32. most sustainable district Boeng Keng Kong, a consolidated result 22.81 for gender equality indicator weights, Doun 20.51, Prampir Makara 19.95, Chamkarmon 19.75. identified district-specific weaknesses, whereas weak points unveil potential districts.
